This is just a short note to keep everyone up to date on whats happening here.
Not much happening the last couple of months. Its rainy season and we are getting our usual 4-5 inches of rain a week and its also been very hot! Upper 90’s for weeks straight, so we’ve been doing a little bit of hiding. But I’ve been dying to get back into the water, so Barb and I headed to the Blue Heron Bridge this past Monday for a morning of getting wet.

All the usual subjects showed up to greet us and even the Nudibranchs are still around. Interestingly I learned that this is the time of year when the Nudibranchs show up in numbers at the bridge to mate and the last two trips have been filled with these interesting and beautiful little creatures. The picture above is a Harlequin Sea Goddess. My first ever sighting other than books. I think we found about 8 of them and they’re only about the half the size of your baby fingernail. There’s no telling how long they’ll be around, but I hope to get a chance to find more in a few weeks. Also new to me this trip were the abundance of Dartfish(Below is a Blue Dartfish). I’ve seen them from time to time, but have never been able to get close enough to get a picture. This trip they were out in numbers and even let me get close to them before diving into a hole when they get spooked.

So thats it! You can check out the rest of my Blue Heron Bridge pictures for 2025 here, and the first 12 are from our trip this week. Heading to Wisconsin next for our family meet up and hopefully a place to cool off for a few days.
