Nudibranch
[noo-duh-brangk] A group of soft-bodied marine gastropod mollusks, belonging to the order Nudibranchia, that shed their shells after their larval stage. They are noted for their often extraordinary colours and striking forms, and they have been given colourful nicknames to match, such as “clown”, “marigold”, “splendid”, “dancer”, “dragon”, and “sea rabbit”. About 3,000 species of nudibranchs are known. Want to know more? Check it out here
A funny thing happened at the Blue Heron Bridge a few weeks ago, an explosion of Nudibranchs showed up, like we’ve never seen before!

They’re easy to spot if you know what you’re looking for (most are poisonous and they advertise it with color) although most of the species that showed up were quite small, a centimeter or less. They seem to be much more common and larger in Southeast Asia, but you have to admit they sure are beautiful. So check out the rest of my finds at the Blue Heron Bridge 2025
