I don’t know if it’s just me, but it’s getting harder and harder for me to keep up in this digital age.
Case in point; I had to buy Barb and I new computers. Its seems that the hardware on our computers could no longer handle the new security updates. It started about 3 months ago and we got an email from Microsoft that Windows 10 was no longer supported. So I tired to update the operating system on Barb’s computer and was told that her PC was out of date and there was not an updated operating system that would work on it. I thought I would let it go for a while thinking that I didn’t care about Microsoft support for the short term. When doing my taxes I bought the new Turbotax and when installing was told that it would also not work with Barb’s pc or my Mac(12 years old each). So in order to do my taxes I broke down and bought a new PC(they’re much cheaper than a Mac) for Barb. Then the VPN on my Mac started having issues and several websites notified me that Safari was out of date and these websites would no longer support my web browser. You had to know that none of the other web browsers available would work either. The update of Safari was also unsuccessful with Apple telling me Their updated OS wouldn’t work on my Mac either. So kicking and screaming Barb and I have new computers! As you might expect this causes a whole other set of issues, namely softwares I use for the website would not work with my new operating system on my new shiny Macbook Air, so I updated those too. Now, finally I’m back online and everything seems to be working together, although Apple has notified me that on their next operating system update Intel based software will no longer work. Grrrrr! I’m leaving that for another day.
Now for the good news, tropical fruits season is in full swing! All of our trees seemed to be back from the hurricane damage of a few years back and with the weather being a little odd this winter/spring everything is coming in early.
Mangoes and papayas are a bumper crop this year and I’m always dreaming of new ways to store them. Also the avocados, although not ready yet have tons of fruit set.
And we were got a huge box of Lychees from friends in trade
And this is why we have a second refrigerator.
Lastly, I’ve updated many of my photo lists for 2026 you might want to check out. First up is the Blue Heron Bridge album and its Nudibranch time of year so you can have a look at the crazy color patterns that we’ve found this year here. So, what’s coming up for us? well, I just got back from a fishing trip with the brothers in Ontario, Canada and Barb spent a few days with her sister in Georgetown, South Carolina. And in a few days we’re off to an Alaska cruise via the inner passage, so stay tuned. It should be interesting because it’s our first cruise(I’m not a huge fan of cruise ships, but that’s for another day) and our friends are hoping that this will change my mind.
